DRIP RAIL MOLDING QUESTION

I was told this & i want to confirm it. I was told that the drip rail moldings for a car that has a vinyl top are wider than the ones without a vinyl top. TRUE or FALSE

A green stripe (think sharpie) on the backside of molding will indicate vinyl top molding. At least from what I’ve seen….
