I’m swapping my 1970 Belvedere’s 318/904 for a 440/727.
904 Seems to be 4” shorter than the 727. I assume I just need to take the shaft to a shop and tell them to cut off 4” and rebalance?

Also, need a different slip yoke with proper number of splines (so I’m told). Can someone provide a link?
Thanks.

Think you should look for a BB driveshaft. MO. You have small u-joints if you don't beat on it you could be ok.. You'll need a combination u-joint for rear if using a BB d shaft because the diff probably a 7260 small u-joint. When you break rear diff your ready to go for a 742 or a 489 housing with the larger u-joint.
