e body console ashtray bezel help

You all helped me with many questions on my e body possibly you can help me on this for me. My73 challenger auto center console ash tray bezel just does not make sense on how it attaches to the bottom of console. Am i missing somethink that the repop attaches to. Bending tabs are way off compared to my origanal broke bezel. also what is the small hole underneath console. the single tab can be bent down but the other two there is no meat to bend down to.

It almost looks like the two tabs are supposed to hook on the raised area further back and they marked the cutout in the wrong spot. I would glue a wooden dowel under the tabs once it dries then press the tabs into the dowel. It's on the underside of the console. No one would be able to see it.
