ebay false vin code question

I just got off the phone with ebay and told them just what the VIN read on the car. I asked them if it looked like a station wagon to them and they agreed that it wasn't one. They said that they have received a great many complaints about the car. I told them that it was up to them to police the listings, especially when they receive so many reports. I not only feel that the listing will be pulled but the seller may also be banned. This is a dealership and not a private owner, look at the first two neg. feedbacks.

He needs to be turned over to his state. Under federal law that is not a legit car. You'd think that a dealer would be smart enough to check the vin on a 40 year old car.

9 hours left, I just called e-bay and told them the problem again... she said she'd get it to their trust, security and insurance dept. Wanna bet it's sold anyway? Even after I tried to explain to her all the problems that could arise? She had a pretty thick accent, I'm still not sure she understood what I was telling her.

If I wasn't concerned about damaging my 500+ positive feed backs I would bid $20,000 and then just stick em with it.

They probably get thousands of reports daily and all the help is outsourced.

"Hallooo,dees ees Peggy..."

That vin sticker on the door looks original to me,maybe screwed up from the factory?

Maybe he used the door and the dash when he rebuilt the car as well. Somebody should look at the vin on the cross bar by the radiator or one under the trunk weather stripping. The dam car has not gone through 40 years as a station wagon and then we are the first to catch it. I don't think so.

Doubt he put the station wagon door on a hard top body !!:nono:

either Ebay pulled it or some poor sucker paid 14K for it. good call on the vin decal on the door, got me scratching my head too. Ebay is full of nameless faceless crooks! I do my best to describe anything I sell to the smallest detail, ya know you gotta live with yourself. If you cant sell something honestly then DON'T SELL IT!!!

the last that I saw the add was he had posted it to be a GTX made from a sport satellite.then closed.
