For all that are considering purchasing the 1100 dollar E-Street heads I have a bit of info for you. I got a pair real cheap from another member a while back and finally got around to having them checked out to run a comp 274 extreme energy cammed 440. My machine shop said they look good as far as the heads themselves but the valve train is not up to par. Ended up replacing the springs, locks and retainers to a tune of 375 bucks. Keep that in mind..

Sounds like my Stealth heads. They claimed .550 lift on their springs. I broke 1 with a .513 lift cam, and consequently the web site had changed to .500 lift. I also changed the locks/retainers right off the bat.

Thanks justglazin! I have those same heads (they sell "blemished" ones for about half price & I think that's what I got cheap) + the same camshaft that's going in my "cruiser" motor. So, what exactly was the issue? The springs didn't have enough seat pressure/open pressure/rate for your cam?

Not enough pressure open and they were installed at different heights. The guides were good but the seals were cheap chinese crap that I replaced also. The valve seats sealed good and have a nice blend to the ports. Dont get me wrong these were not the worst heads for the money but you must have them checked out.
