Electronic distributor install question?

Proform 66991: Electronic Distributor Conversion Kit for Chrysler/Mopar Small Blocks 273-360ci | JEGS

Purchased this for my '66 Charger. Upgrading from points.

Just slightly confused on what to do with the three loose wires. Instructions say to not use the green one? For the remaining two. Do I splice at the bulkhead or just connect them to either side of the ballast? And do I need to buy extra wire to run for something else, because it comes with three extra connectors?

What gauge should that wire from POS to ballast be? And can I do everything with piggybacks like this?

16 gauge should be good
