Parents bought a new 71 RR air grabber with the "383" call outs located over the front side marker lights.

I have been seeing 71-72 vehicles (some Satellite Sebrings) with the basic RR hood that incorporates the call outs on both sides of the hood, which I know is the alternative without the air grabber. However, these cars with hood callouts also duplicate the callouts on the front fenders over the side marker lights.

Did the factory post the callouts twice like that? Thank you.

No. It was always either or, and only the RR and GTX got them in 71 / 72 only. It may have been 71 only on the fender call outs

It may have been 71 only on the fender call outs

on 72's
i have seen them down on the dogleg part of the fender and also above the marker light.
i know on the fender dogleg callout is factory for sure
,not sure about above the marker light?
i have the answer
for above the marker
In 71, the standard 383 cars did get callouts. For 72 the standard 400 did not.
so no above the marker on a 72, it went on the dogleg on 440 cars only
here is some reading on it

Learn something new every day. I have never seen them behind the wheel well like that, only above the marker light

I put one on the trunk lid of my 74 just because I got tired of people coming up from behind the car asking "what ya' got in there?" :)
