That stamp is MR and the block is a 1959 passenger car 413. same in a imperial, New Yorker and 300.
The 5 digits is a sequential number, not a date.

After looking I agree MR not MP... And being earlier would explain the casting number being close but not quite right... I'll stick with the newer stuff... Leave the antiques to you old guys....

My opinion of it?
Somebody must have cared enough about it to paint the valley (tho it doesn't look like glyptol) and put head studs in it. (If your gonna paint it, why not grind the casting flash out first???)
What is the bore size currently? Standard? .030? A sixteenth over for 426?
