Ok guys so while the box was out and exhaust off I decided to throw the left engine mount a bought a while ago onto the car.

My car is a 74 with a 383 and a833 trans. It left the factory with a 318 with 3 speed manual.

The mount that was on the car was longer. I thought the bush had slipped through but it looks like it was ground and bush pushed forward to meet the mound better in k frame but I’m not sure. The passenger side looks ok.

I bought a mount for a 400 for that year thinking the big block mount would fit. But it’s not as long and wants to be offset the other direction.

Any ideas what mounts I need to get?

I was wondering if it was due to a difference in the k frame. That’s a pain in the ***.

The passenger side seems like and original type mount.

Exactly, different K-frames...easiest route is to go with the link T2R9 posted.

'back-in-the-day', you'd be digging though junkyards looking for a k-frame to pull.

Had a look at the link and instructions. have to pull the engine to drill k frame for those mounts.

Might fabricate something for now and pull the engine in winter.
