Engine pad ID/Decode Help

Can anyone tell me what the letters on the engine pad mean? I know the “E” in front of the 440 is for the year 1969, and I know the “3” and the “24” mean it was built on March 24th 1969, and the “HP2” mean high performance and I believe 2nd shift but. what does the backwards “C” mean and the “T” and “W” mean? Picture attached…

Not sure about the backwards C, but the WT is water test.

Do you know what is meant by water test? What not all blocks have that?
I don't know if it was just a random selection after casting or if they were selected due to possible faults found at casting. No matter which it was, it made it to production so no real reason to worry.
