I've just finished installing an after market ac system (Nostalgic Air) in my 64 Sport Fury. Install went well with no major issues and the folks at Nostalgic were a pleasure to deal with.

Although the install is complete I'm not ready to charge the system with freon yet. I have a few electrical things to finish up.

Here is my question:
Can I evacuate the system (with a vacuum pump and gauges) to check to see if it will hold a vacuum and charge the system when I'm ready? Hoping to have no leaks.

Thanks

You sure can but unless you break vacuum with nitrogen it will get atmosphere it when you break the vacuum. if its gonna be a while break vaccuum with nitrogen and charge to 40 psi or so with nitrogen to make sure you don't have any leaks.
