Doing my Charger very soon and I've heard good things out of the slick sand and super build primers by Evercoat but I have no experience with them. They're both very thick primers that should greatly speed up the blocking process. Just like anything else they sound like the best way to go but I want to do some home work first. Has anyone out there every used the stuff? Did it work well? Did it hold up down the road?

4 + 1 super build is a great product. I have used this product since its delivery to the field with great success. It is not for final prime though.Final prime should be a good urethane primer. The only dislikes are it requires a very large cap and needle in the spray gun to spray well. 2.0 or 2.2 they say as small as a 1.6 good luck spraying the hood of a b body evenly with that!!!! That and the fumes are horrible! Even in the proper environment booth or prep deck and proper respirator it is bad!!!!! The trade off for a solid product though.

I have used slick sand with great sucess. I do top coat it with a urethane primer before painting. Ken

I've read a few comments other places that say the stuff dries like concrete and is a nightmare to sand. Does that sound right?

Easy to sand, buy a cheap gun with a 2.3 tip from harbor freight. it likes to be sprayed at 70F and it really does a good job of giving a good base for final priming. I would get yourself a tin of blocking dust from 3M too. This will make fora really nice blocking program.

I keep seeing that it needs to be top coated with urethane to seal it which makes sense. Do I need to go over with a urethane high build primer surfacer, block again and then go to sealer, or can I put urethane sealer on top of the polyester?

I don't know, I use a Hi Build primer sealer only cause i am used to it. It does not shrink like regular primers. You can really get a straight body using this stuff.
