Looking for header back complete for my 69 Roadrunner and on Summit I noticed there's essentially 2 options... summits own and flowmaster American Thunder.

Currently with my 383 I have 2 1/2/ to the muffler (Flowmaster 40's) and it exits 2 1/4 out the back. With the purchase of a new stroked crate motor I want to do 3" header back so looking for your suggestions... I tend to like my exhaust more on the obnoxious side or a "deeper" tone.

Thanks fellas!

I went with TTI and very happy with the exhaust for fit and sound, even lost a header bolt and had no leak at the flange, Rudy Held in New Hamburg is a TTI dealer near you. It,s been 5 plus years ,5000 miles and still look like new.

How's it sound Beezee?

- - - Updated - - -

Sorry Beezee I just realized they use the Dynomax super turbos so I have a pretty good idea of sound on a 3" Nice and clean looking car you have there!!

On my 68 RR with 383/479ci 6bbl, I have the Flowmasters 3" mandrel tubing "American Thunder" purchased from Summit racing w/Delta 50 Series race mufflers & same 3" tail pipes out the back, I love the sound... Exelent performance & fit was extremely good.. going on 6 years now... I'm building new custom step headers w/Flowmasters 4-2-1 Scavenger series Collectors, very soon too, sorry no photos or sound

I've used Flowmaster's stuff with great success since the 70's & went 8.58 @ 156mph thru the mufflers out the rear, on my old car, so don't listen to the BS/Hype about they don't flow as well as some newer brands claims...

Thanks Budnicks So you bought the American Thunder header back kit and opted to go for different mufflers?

yep, I had the mufflers already... didn't like the smaller 40 series a little too obnoxious for my taste, prefer the delta series, not sure if they even still make them & I live in a quite neighborhood, with a few babies & allot of old people, I love the sound of the engine, if I want a quite ride, I will just drive something else... Muscle Cars are supposed to loud & obnoxious, music to my ears

Here is my thought TTI headers with 3"x pipe and dynomax mufflers, good sounds and great performance.

Mike

TTI's followed by QTP electric cutouts, followed by DynoMax Superturbos. Quiet cruising and rattle the windows (buildings) on demand.

I have the TTi headers and stainless exhaust from Pypes. The TTi headers are a great fit just stayed with Pypes for cost and ease of install.

Those photos are after 5 years! Really? That is amazing.
