First, let me explain I have been a legal resident in Mexico for the last ten years or so, but I have a USA cell phone with a San Diego area code.
My cell phone rings with an area code from the state of Virginia. The caller identifies himself as calling from the office of Homeland Security and Border Protection. I notice right off the speaker has one of those "India" accents. Asks me over and over again if I am expecting a package from Mexico (not "to Mexico", where I am now). Must have been a scam. Good luck next time.
