I have found a Facebook Seller that advertises on Facebook Marketplace. This seller goes by Mopar performance Parts and uses this insignia:

MOPAR performance PARTS

Automotive, Aircraft & Boat

Lists Mopar Dana 60's and has an automatic Messenger Response asking anyone clicking the Ad something like "Thank You for your interest in MOPAR performance PARTS. How can we assist you?" Texting, it was represented that this business is in Pennsylvania. I haven't had much luck researching this vendor. Has anyone had experience with this vendor? Can anyone recommend them? Thanks in advance.

After probing around abit I found this Facebook Home page for MOPAR performance PARTS.

View attachment 1964685Interesting - a classic Chevy P/U for a Mopar Parts Seller Logo. It is pretty.

Good clue with the Chevy not matching a mopar only seller.

“Parts” is another clue. And lower case “performance” in title is another.

Name on insignia does not match page name.

Page created only on Aug 21.

Only has 3 followers

Did you Google image search any of the for sale pictures

Google the image - interesting approach. No I didn't. Thanks.

An Update about MOPAR performance PARTS. This seller is beginning to seem more suspicious. I did send them some money to hold a part for me for a couple of weeks. Roughly 10% of the purchase price agreed upon with the expressed intension of settling after the first of the year which is approaching soon (it's Dec 23). Early this morning at 03:10a I get a message informing me that "my child is currently in the hospital, and it's come with some unexpected expenses. I'm a bit short on funds at the moment. If it's possible, I'd appreciate it if you could send $500 or $600 and when we meet, you can deduct that amount from balance, I understand if this is inconvenient, and I truly appreciate your consideration. Thank you." So, I provide this info as a warning to our members and will update as things develop.

Yeah, Thanks for the reply. It seems to be developing for the worse.

You should reply:

"I'm sorry to hear that. If you could send the part immediatly, i will pay you 10x the price as soon as i receive it. I will also pay your child's entire hospital bill and pay for their college education as i have just been informed i'll be receiving $1 million dollars from a Nigerian prince for helping out his unfortunate relative. I promise to pay but please send me the part first because i need it to complete and sell the car so i can pay a courier to bring my money from Lagos. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

What would be a plausible excuse for the need to get the 10% back to fund and make the $600 advance possible.

Any group, or for sale listing on FB selling parts with no comments is a scam. Any price that is too good to be true is a scam. Just a little common sense would tell you that.

Just looking at the posts tell you to steer clear. Completely restored/rebuilt 340-6 TA engine with the 727 transmission for $3250. You think that's legit? One of his posts says he's in San Diego. I'm sure if you looked further, he probably says he's in another city as well!

I buy NOTHING from FB Market place unless it's local and I can actually go see the parts or product. There are some on FBMP that are legit but way too many scammers to sift through. I sell a LOT of stuff on FBMP but it's all local with 'real' people showing up.
