Fake/Counterfeit Spark Plugs

Caveat emptor goes without saying especially buying from eBay (IMO), but fake/counterfeit spark plugs (and other parts such as fuel injectors) continue to be reported for brands such as NGK, Bosch, Denso, & Autolite.

This is the first I've heard of counterfeit spark plugs. They don't look like something that could be manufactured and sold for less money than the real thing?
