fan too small?

I just ordered a 15" thermal clutch fan and a reproduction 16" shroud, well they sent me the 18" shroud by mistake i guess. ( not gonna complain, it cost way more). Well the 15" fan seems smaller than i expected and im scared ill end up nuking my engine if i use it, even till i order a bigger fan. Will it do okay for now or should i wait till i get a bigger fan for driving?

Before i forget its a 440 mildly built.

if ya have a good radiator...i wouldnt worry about it. 18"-15"=3"...divide that by 2 and ya get 1-1/2 inch clearance to the shroud all the way around. itll be fine as long as the rad isnt clogged up.

yeah, I think it should be fine, but check it with a mechanical temp guage, take it for a spin and watch the temp guage.
