FBBO member RJRENTON "Bob" has passed away.

R.I.P., Bob. Although I did not always agree with your opinions, I usually enjoyed them. Thank you for your posts while you were with us.

R.I.P. to Bob - a real original, and genuine guy. Today would have been his 80th birthday.

Rest in peace Bob. I give him credit, he always stood by his beliefs and provided facts to support them. But most of all I don't remember Bob ever getting into arguments/pissing contests with other members, He just stated his opinion and moved on.

I too am genuinely saddened by this news of Bob. He and I exchanged private conversations a few times ..... usually because I was trying to calm down the muddy waters after disagreements on the forums about charging circuits, electronic ignition and green bearings etc....

He was always positive towards my requests and suggestions, and he said a couple of times he would love to be able to come over here and pay a visit. I honestly think if he was fit enough and able to do so that he would have. I certainly do hope that everyone can sit back and appreciate what Bob tried to do in the way of education at times.

Take his arguments how you will, but he really did have a passion for getting the details right.

My sincere condolences to his family....I hope one of them will discover this thread and have a read.

May you rest in peace Bob.....you certainly have earned a rest. :praying:

Of course, all of the above is just my opinion. :)

*************

I wouldn't normally do this ...but Bob was such a nice guy, I'm sure he would be OK with me sharing our last exchange.....

I won't forget you Bob..... you have etched a great set of memories in my mind.

RIP Bob. He was definitely of the opinion that his way was the only way, but I do think he was genuinely interested in helping people. Like him or not, he will be missed.

RIP Bob. Will pray for you and your family.

I will miss the debate he sparked here. So many times I agreed with what he said, just not the presentation. As a fellow GTX guy, I appreciated his views on not messing with what the factory created. No question, he loved the cars as much as any of us.
Yes, his presentation could have used a bit of polish at time....and he will be missed.

My condolences and prayer goes out to his family and friends for peace, healing and comfort. I'm sure the cat will miss him too.

RIP Bob.

We need passionate car guys and gals who care about doing things well. I never have an issue debating a point because in the end everyone learns from it.

Bob was a great add to FBBO and he will be missed.
