The PNT D is Medium Blue Metallic.
H4B is High trim, Blue Vinyl
CC is Light Blue trim
SO 0417 is Scheduled Build Date of April 17, 1964
1812 is the Shipping Order#
C5 is Automatic Trans
G1
J1 is Heater
N3 is 318(?)
P8
R1 is AM Radio

Thanks. Why the 318? It was supposed to be 383? These are hard to decode, it has A/C ?

Decoding a tag from that year is dependent on the plant.

At what plant was the car built?

That's why I put a (?) by the engine. It looks like you have a Lynch Road tag.

A 64 Lynch Road tag will have the two digit Gate and three digit Base numbers at the top.

This tag does not so the car was not built at LR. That's why I asked for the plant.

Vin #3441239039. Decodes to. 64 Sport Fury, v8. Lynch Rd Detroit ?
Car has a bench seat, thought all Sports had Buckets and console ?

Yep, Max Wedge says:
This vehicle is a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury 8 Cylinder
and was the 139,039th car scheduled for production at the
Lynch Road, Detroit, MI assembly plant.

I was sure about the Lynch Road build.

Interesting...I'm not sure I've seen a 64 LR tag missing the top numbers.

And yet the tag codes 332= Fury 2 DR HT with Fury H4* vinyl bench seat interior code. Hmmmmm.
Have you checked the body numbers against the fender tag?

Do you mean the VIN tag is missing?
Where did the VIN posted above come from? The title?

The pic I posted was Underwood on inner fender, the one on door jam, near parking brake is missing

... the one on door jam, near parking brake is missing

So the VIN tag for this car is missing.

Doesn't seem so strange to me.

Gut feel....since the VIN plate is missing there is no way to tie a title with this body meaning one could take a LR built Sport Fury title and mate it to, say, a St. Louis built Fury.

I have a fender tag from a 64 Plymouth. Most I can find is that is turcorgise and white 2dr hardtop. The engine code is not reflected. So who I determine what engine should have been in this car? VIN is 3341145681. Attached is the fender tag.

Thanks for any help

If there is no code for engine then means came with the standard engine probably a 318 sorry can't find my code book right now.

Thanks for the feed back. I had a feeling the car was being sold as a clone. They tried to make 426 Wedge. When I asked about toque boxes I think I scared them off.
