Fillerneck how far?

Installing the gastank back into my 69 Satellite. Tank and rubbergrommet in place, but my memory isn't what it just to be.. Just how far into the tank should the fillepipe go? The slightly bigger åart of the pipe.. Should it just inside the rubber grommet or on the outside mounted against the grommet. Pictures will help.

I believe you should have a bracket with a bolt hole that bolts to the back trunk support. That will tell you how far in.

Great pics! I have that bracket laying around but not sure about the raised bit on the pipe.. Does it go inside the grommet or stay on the outside?
