I’ve owned this 68 Road Runner since 1997. Very complete nice driver with a 68 440 already installed. Everything else was pretty much untouched. I started the restoration around 2007. Built my own rotisserie and have slowly built as many sub assemblies as possible. It is now in paint “jail” and hopefully I can start putting this bird back together in the near future. My wife surprised me with a nicely built Edelbrock headed 440 for Christmas several years ago. I was speechless then and now! Over the last several years I have picked up a 1969 18 spline and a OEM 68-69 Dana. I have restored everything and just need the body done to start building back.

Double check the rear window fitment, and rear window moldings,I have had friends who had issues in that area on B body hardtops after changing rear quarter panels and dutch panels. Better to find out that they need tweaking now than after the car is painted. There is a member on here who had his 69 Road Runner painted and his rear glass does not fit in the car.

You had better make them fit the rear bumper too. I will never understand why a shop would cut everything off with the car supported like that. They may want to square up the frame rails for height, qtr fit at the door, and support them in 3-4 places before they weld anything on. Tell them you want to see the door fit before they finish weld it. One problem is they will tell you to come and get your car if you ask too many questions.

Agree with the above posts about alignment of body panels. You would be shocked as to how much these cars flex when supported with just 4 jackstands placed in the areas in your pics. Even with everything off the car and no bracing, being a hardtop, no frame connectors, or torque boxes it will still sit different than when supported near the wheels. Don't mean to get you nervous, but now is the time to get all that sorted out.

Not trying to throw too much at you at once but, install the taillight housings and the deck lid.
Sometimes when a quarter is replaced, the taillight housing sticks out from the side of the
quarter panel. You have to adjust the extensions so your gap is even all the way around.

Yep, test fit everything before paint... even the tail lights, grill, headlight shrouds and trim..... trunk lid with seal taped in place..etc

I will talk to my body man about these concerns. Thank you all for the “tips” and advice again. Not many people left who are willing to help someone.
