Finding the engine for my car ?

Is there a forum or place anyone knows of on the web to search for the correct VIn # Mopar engine and transmission for cars. I'm trying to find the original 440 Six pak engine for my car. Besides the lost and found forum on this site.

Any help in where to look is appreciated.

Pretty much a needle in a haystack or likely not to be found. Most of these HP cars (6 BBL; HEMI's) were raced, or at the very least, beat on pretty hard to the point the original engine scattered. Best you can do in this case is find a date coded block.

What year car?

Prior to mid 1968, it's MUCH easier to find "the" correct engine.

There are thousands of candidates.

After mid 1968, thee is only one per car.
