what? lolUuuh…
Just speculation, but that's an AMC 258. Almost if not more legendary than a /6. Rebuild the carb, and you're good to go.just not sure what we are looking at and why.
Imo, the 258 was heads above the /6! and only had one of those but it impressed me for a 6. The /6 has never really impressed me much.....Just speculation, but that's an AMC 258. Almost if not more legendary than a /6. Rebuild the carb, and you're good to go.

this is the hotrod 258... has the carter 2 BBL on it 120 HP. Only 5 less than the 304 V8. and in a 2700 pound hornet don't do to bad.Imo, the 258 was heads above the /6! and only had one of those but it impressed me for a 6. The /6 has never really impressed me much.....

And a Concord wasn’t a Hornet.![]()
One of the things I have to keep in mind.....33's on all the way around on my 2500 and the spare that size won't fit under the truck. If I have a flat on the rear, will have to move one of the tires from the front to the rear and put the spare on the front. RPITA! and not too sure if I can even do that kind of stuff anymore. One of the few vehicles I bought new was a 1980 AMC Spirit. Using the 358 six was a no brainer and they made it with full size A arms, 14" wheels, leaf springs on the rear, limited slip, and four speed trans. Great car until the wife got caught in a hail storm. Looked like someone worked it over with a ball peen hammer. Then coming back from a trip down south we had a flat tire on the rear. I put the donut spare on and forgot it had a limited slip rear. Well by time we got home it was making some noise. Traded it in at a dealer the following week.
@hacksaw Any pictures of the car?
Ok I get that.just showing off. i love brining cold dead iron back to life.
