Howdy,

this is my first Mopar so I am new to these cars. I just got a '67 Belvedere II on a trade and I dig it.
Please pass along any places you recommend for parts and such. I need to get a new pulley (3 groove for the AC) but seem to only find aftermarket power pulleys which I am not interested in. So any points in the right direction are appreciated. Thanks.

Colorado Dave, it looks like BPE only makes then for 70 and later. I dont know what the difference is. It turns out my had one of the 3 groove pulleys with a heavy rubber damper and the rubber failed and that is how the A\C portion of the pulley was attached. it seems to be a hard part to find. I will put up some pics soon.

Welcome from Maine!

Be careful with pulleys and brackets.

It's real easy to enter 'Pulley HELL".

Seems like there are different setups for each year, and within each year there are different setups for A/C and non-A/C.

If you want to be sure:

A- verify all the rest of your equipment is correct (or at least matching)- good luck with this.

B- find and use the correct pulleys/brackets that match the rest of your setup.

Another caution- things like water pump housings and fan spacers can also be year and/or A/C specific!!

I have a newfound elevated interest in 67 Bel II cars :)

What motor does your car have? Do you need the pulley that mounts on the A/C compressor or the crankshaft? Like was said, pictures will help us help you. Also, it's worth a call to BPE once you can send them a picture too.

Sorry its a 318

Very nice car. Congratulations! It appears that the A/C pulley you are referring to is actually a part of the vibration damper on the front of the crankshaft, that carries the A/C belt. Is that right, or are my old eyes deceiving me? A side view of that 'pulley' would help.

Yes. the pulley itself on the ac belt groove is (was) suspended in rubber and vulcanized to the pulley, i presume to help in damping. but there is a balancer inboard from the pulley and this is at the most outboard end. is there another non damped pulley i can use?

I think I would take these pictures to a salvage yard near you and see if they can help you. They also have Hollander manuals that will show any interchangeable pulleys. BPE is still worth an email with pictures.
