Okay, what about the standard steel 4 blade fan,
Thoughts. Thanks

dont use a flex fan with a clutch.you use a soid spacer with a flex fan.they come in diff lengths for custom set ups like your aluminum rad.try the right length spacer and see if it keeps the car cool enough.fan should be about 1/2 inch from rad.

Thanks. Looking at a Derale #17017 with spacer, Anyone use this make. Summit& Mancini carry them

I tried several fans on my motor, including that Derale. I ended up with a stock 7 blade 18" Mopar fan with a spacer. My best advise if you decide to use a flex fan is to give it plenty of clearance to the radiator core, as they flex FORWARD.

Thanks, Must be the early k frame thing, moves motor ahead by 1-1/2", How did you find the stock fan, compared to the Derale, Where can you get a stock 7 blade fan?

Dont know if this pic will help you any as this is my setup on my 63. I have used flex fans for many years and never had one come apart but as I told you I inspect them about twice a season and I dont use real cheap ones. Only this one came with my 63 and works good for me and is still in great shape. Thought maybe you can get and idea of the spacer thickness I use as I believe I bought this spacer at a local Salvo auto parts store. Ron
