What do the bolts look like that connect the flexplate to the crank? THe ARP ones (The Official ARP Web Site | Kits), look like a star head? Is that right (pic below)?

I'm still going through my bins of bolts, so I might have them, but want to get them on order if I don't.

Thanks

There were a few different head marking styles used on the flex plates to crankshaft bolts, but they are interchangeable. The following images shows the bolts and different head markings:

Those ARP's are 12 point bolts. No problem. We all have 12 point sockets.

I think you are concerned about the "star head". It is actually a 12 point bolt they work great and work perfectly with a 12 point socket. I bet you already have the socket.:thumbsup:

Checked my flywheel and they're 7/16-20 thread. I checked my bellhousing bolts; somehow, I'm missing one of those as well. I went through everything, and I mean everything, as I haven't thrown anything away on purpose yet. I have kept all my broken bolts, used bushings, and rusted parts.

I went ahead and ordered both flywheel and bellhousing bolts from MegaParts today. My brother and nephew are coming to help me install everything on the k-frame dolly next weekend (extra set of eyes/hands lifting the engine & trans). We should be able to install all the accessories on the engine as well (alternator, power steering pump, etc) and have it ready for the return of the car. It will turn 3 piles and 1 bin of stuff into 1 big pile of stuff. Looking forward to it.

On the flexplate to converter bolts, with ARP bolts, highly recommend red loctite and 50 to 55 lb-ft torque. I have had several loosen up on me before I went with this method.
