flip out side glass

can the post be welded into a non post car to have the flip out windows instead of the roll down? is it that simple or is there more to it?

Well, just having bought some door latch mounting area repair panels....no. However, "maybe" if you welded in that piece too? They are different with the hardtop version having a slot for the window to roll up/down.
