Foil type Multi Layer Insulation in your home?

Attic fans are great for pulling air out of a house, but whatever goes in the attic must be able to leave the attic. I don't remember the formula, cfm in , square foot out.

Yes - my 1st house was built in 1965 - I also added several eve vents with the fan install.

I had one years ago. You can tell if you don't have enough vents for the attic fan, the insulation starts dancing around due to the increased pressure.

Its all about R values and ventilation. A house built to tight can be deadly. You breath in air and put out carbon dioxide just as many other things in your home. Those gas have to go some where and fresh air needs to be brought in from some where. It gets to be an expensive trade off. I am not an engineer but have studied this for years before starting to build our new home.
Last winters cold blast must have the Texans in panic mode. Blown in insulation is still the biggest bang for the buck.
