The VIN# is "OF 122426" or "OE 122436" See photo below

I have this engine. I believe it is an original Six Pak motor. If you have the car to match please contact me. Casting date is May 14th, 1969.

As 6bbls were installed at numerous plants, it would be helpful to know the plant it was installed.

Am I seeing an "E" before the numbers?

An "F"?

Not sure if that is an E or an F or nothing???
The casting # is 2536430-5 Casting date 5-14-69

The ID plate in front of the manifold is:
"F 440"
"11 10HP" Assembly date I've been told.

The VIN will be year-plant-sequence. (0E122426 or 0F122426)

The plant code makes a difference as it will help narrow down what make or model the engine came out.

See the original post I updated it with a better picture of the VIN. It does have an "OF" or an "OE" in front of the # just can't tell for sure whch it is. Also the "2" 2nd to the end of the VIN could be a "3" hard to tell.

Perhaps you can let me know which plant the "OF" and the "OE" is from.

0E would be the LA plant (built A. B and E bodies for 1970. Only B or E bodies could have come with a 6bbl)
OF would be Newark plant (built C bodies including the Fury GTs which could come with a 6bbl)

Knowing the plant will tell you which group of owners you want to target. B body owners, C body owners or E body owners.

What makes you think it is a 6bbl engine?

Thanks for the info.

The reason I think it's a 6 bbl is it's externally balanced & I bought it with the original 6 bbl cast iron manifold.

Based on dates, it is likely from the LA plant meaning you are looking for Road Runner/GTX/Super Bee/Coronet R/T / 'Cuda or Challenger owners.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. This is useful.
