GOOD EVENING. HOPEFULLY I CAN MAKE SOMEBODY'S DAY. I was cleaning out an old tool box from like 30 years? ago. i found a copy of the build sheet and the fender tag from a car I sold like 30 years? ago when I lived in Massachusetts. Was a 69 coronet, Hemi, auto, Y2 VIN is WS23 J9G 115558. IF anyone knows the owner now have them contact me. Thanks

Put the full VIN in the title do it will show up on searches. The vin is WS23, your post says WE23

Looks like it was for sale at the St. Louis Car Museum not too long ago.

How does this fake tag match up to the real one?

I will post some pics ,front and back. When I got the car was blsck , but you can see the yellow where the screws where and when u fit it over you can see the crease where the tag was bent to factory paint? yes all the info on tag matches what I have, except for that I have a stamped out 4 on the last row above the R11. I also have 3 numbers stamped the other way down into the tag on line 5 above the VX8. the last number? of the 3 is right where the right hand screw is. where you c the pics you will know what I mean

the 070222 is the same every code is the same . Another thing I notice is the screw heads on the repo cover up part of the M2 on M25 and 8X on the V8X? Maybe the screw heads are bigger? Would have to see the tag with no screws in it.

Many use too large of a screw in the tag, originals were quite small.

Yes as the Tag I have show.Tag is painted black with the yellow where the screw heads where

So I email St Louis Cars and gave them my name and phone number and said I was a previous owner of the car and had pics and paper work on the Coronet and If they could pass on that info to the seller. Will see what happens. Thanks for all the info.

St. Louis Cars on the phone with the new owner: "I've got some bad news and some good news".

That repop tag was well done. Very scary. It should give us all pause.

It's probably not the opinion most of you have, but if there's no database like Ford's have for knowing what the vin came with, imo good documentation carries the historical value, not a tag alone.
