Friends that you had to let go.

I really like hanging out at the FBBO tent. I wonder what that indicates.
That's a scary thought :poke: JK

I can't wait till, I can meet up with some, like at Carlisle,
or be able to travel again (won't go into it here), even at closer events,
to see it/them in person...
Be able put a face/voice & smile/laughter with that perceived voice in my head...
Even if I've seen photos & videos a lot...

It must be a hoot, someday, it's on my bucket list...

I've made some 'great friends' here, hope they think the same too
we (5-6 of Us) have a couple convos 1360+ pages
& (5-6) another 1275+ pages convo
another recent acquaintances, that have a lot in common,
show true curiosity, about my father my dog, my life & me about theirs, their families
about what I'm going thru & how they dealt with some of their own
We share a lot...
Everyone shares everything & openly, not just me, it's like a family...
Or, like real friends do...

We do have 'some real characters' here for dang sure
some funny as all get out...
I can depend on that 'I laugh everyday', coming on here
some post or other, some people I really don't know except
as a member of FBBO or other forums
some very helpful, listen & be a sounding board, reciprocal too...
(& it's very appreciative)
Some very friendly to someone they know as a screen name,
but now know the real (name & family) me too...
We all share stuff, private stuff, like friends all do...
We all have our traits good or bad, mostly all good,
but many have other great qualities,
that make up for it...
(on opposite sides of the globe even or the country, it's like they are just next door)
We do have some truly really great people/members
obviously some very helpful & knowledgeable people, that make this place great...

:luvplace::thankyou:

I have been friends with this person since I was 15. He has a drinking problem and it cost him everything/family/wife. When he shows up it nothing but chaos. I dont have time for it Im 60 and it breaks my heart. He likes to be in control and its everyone elsees fault. He is a car/mopar guy and he taught me everything about our cars. He caused problem for my family and that was my breaking point. He knows Im doing the charger. IT sucks for me and his grandkids. I just dont understand.

I probably mentioned this before but here goes anyway.
As guys, we are all aware that generally, women tend to speak more words in a day than men do.
When I was single and looking to meet women, I knew this and accepted it as them being who they were supposed to be.
It got annoying though when all they wanted to talk about was themselves, When a man is trying to get laid, his tolerance for stuff like this is often much higher. Mine wasn't. If someone annoyed me, no matter how pretty she was, I had my limits. I absolutely did not care to listen to her complain about her dad, her boss at the Piggly Wiggly or her past boyfriends. I seemed to become aware of this fault that many people have....that they are way too self centered. Now, again, I don't mean arrogant or conceited...

It occurred to me that if these women couldn't even fake some politeness and consideration when I first meet them, how could it ever be any better if I were involved with them?
When I started going to car shows, I'd run into car guys that were quite similar. THEY did this, THEY thought that, THEY went here, THEY went there. If I saw someone I didn't know standing by their car, I'd ask about THEIR car. Other guys often walk up to a car owner at a show and start blabbing about THEIR car at home. Screw that. Stop raping my ear with your BS stories!

We need the FBBO member with the largest *** to volunteer so we can take turns kicking it, allowing us to release our frustrations.
Who is going to take one for the team?

"Never meet your heroes" has a lot of merit, right up there with "an expert from afar".

I think his name is Hugh Janus.
Isn't he from New Zealand?
I'm not sure he'll be there.

Well, just let my older sister and only sibling go for the 3rd time. Some may remember me talking about her over the years. She's 4 years older than me and has always treated me like her dumb *** little brother and well, I'm sick of putting up with her crap. The first two times were pretty nice to not have her squawking at me because I don't think like she does and when we butt heads, she has a tendency to try and make me feel like I'm.....stooopid.

She puts people 'below' her that work with their hands etc etc and says crap like "why don't you grow up and quit playing with cars" like I'm still a little boy that played in the dirt with them. Told her more than once that if it weren't for the people in the trenches, she wouldn't have the stuff that she likes having but it fell on deaf ears. Gave her too many chances and she thinks her chances are endless. Well, they are not. I'm done....

Sometimes there comes a point.

I almost got through Carlisle without meeting one. Then I drove the GTX to the tent to load my ice chest. I thought the goof was going to get run over.

Barely got out of the car before he told me he had one like it back in the day, but he sold it before they were worth anything. But now he has 50 Mopars he bought cheap, so he’s going to make a killing.

I told him, well don’t plan on getting mine. Never know when or where they’ll appear.
