This may be a rather mundane question but I'm trying to ID an old carb that is supposed to be off of a 65 Ply. There are 2 in question, one has a flat flange where the air cleaner fastens down and the other has a tapered area that the air cleaner sits on. I've worked on both types years ago and can't remember when they stopped using the older tapered type (used a circular clamp w/ a thumbscrew that stuck out below the air cleaner housing) and went to the one that had a wire bail that clipped into the sides of the air horn. Sorry, getting ahead of myself, carbs in question belong on a 65 Ply 318 poly and are Carter BBD carbs. Info would be helpful. As everyone probably knows once those little alum. ID tags are gone positive ID is almost impossible. They are gone on both carbs.

Can't help you with your question - but I can welcome you to Mopar University. Someone will be able to chime in and help.

I parted out a 65 Plymouth Belvedere II a while back and the poly had that clamp style air cleaner on it. I remember because I had a buyer that needed that particular style air cleaner.

Thanks for reply. From info I can find that seems to be true. Can't remember what year they went to the other type. If I can locate that it will kind of narrow down what year carbs I'm working on.
