From the "never say never" department- 78 LeBaron 4 speed

Looks like something that Chevy Chase should be taking on vacation....

That thing is a rusty pile of crap, compared to the one I had/sold.

At least the seller knows 35K is a joke and even says as much.

I find it very interesting.

It's almost a Chrysler "stripper".....with T tops.

If it was white with a red interior (or red with white), and P/W, A/C and cruise, I might be a bidder.

Anyone else see that late of a Chrysler with a manual trans?

Even any post 1950's Chrysler with a M/T is kinda odd.

Not sure it all that uncommon, they have listings for 833 Manual 4 speed
how many in 4 speed I don't have a clue, really no my thing...

maybe the -slant 6- with a manual is more common, I wouldn't know

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_M_platform

IMO no where near $35k worthy, even joking.
regardless of options or rarity

Comes down to different strokes for different folks I guess,
it's worth what someone's willing to fork over...

I've only ever even heard of one other M body Chrysler (not Dodge or Plymouth) M body manual trans car.

I'm trying to think if I've ever seen a 60's or 70's manual trans Chrysler.

Possibly a 300.

Ugliness and price aside, can you imagine the fun throwing this car sideways around a corner mashing the gears?? :steering: Talk about Whale-Watch. :D

I like the big 2 dr Dippers........& LeBarons:steering::wtf: Luxury to be swallowed in seats upholstered with soft Corinthian Leather

Let's remember that F and M body cars are not much larger than an A body.

I still can't remember ever seeing a manual trans Chrysler form the 60's.

My guess is that maybe an early 300 letter car...

Even for the '69 "Hurst" 300 all I've ever seen was automatic.

looks like a easy restoration. Could be the right car for a limited budget. The late 70's cars as well as the 80's are becoming more collectable and as i said let folks enter the classic car hobby.

that is a rare version of the lebaron.
fairly ugly color and needs a lot of rust repair but..it is indeed very unusual to see a 4 speed in those.
i had a couple of the aspens and volares with 4 speeds/manual od
bitd,my fav was my 79 wagon i used to do road repairs for folks back in the early 90-s.
wonder where that car is today...

as far as lebarons my nicest one was black-w red trim and red interior.
i built a motor for it and my wife used to fly everywheres in nc with it.
cops got used to it too,she got a few tickets and a lot of letgos as well.

ive been trying to buy a 2 door 318/auto version for about 8 years now from a guys backyard.,could use a prayer or two,as its sinking lower.

I'm guessing the hi BIN$ is due to the highly modified early warning system...

I worked at a Chry-Ply dealer in 1979. A 4-speed F or M-body really were not that odd back then. All of these were overdrive.

F body I'll partially agree with. I've seen more than a few.

M body I' have to take issue with. I've never seen one in all the time I've been a hard core Mopar head and paying special attention to just such oddities (when a lot of other guys ONLY look at 68-71 cars).

If you told me you saw a stripper Diplomat or Gran Fury with a slant and an 833, I might believe you.

I've seen slants in M body Chryslers, but never a manual trans.

IIRC there was a guy on this board selling a 4 door LeBaron with a manual.

Never saw the tag, but he got a fair share of crap for claiming it was original.

That's the only other one I've even ever heard about in almost 40 years.
