Is it just me, or can I hear banjo's playing ????
There's a difference between improvisation
and throwing a bunch of stuff together.
During my build, I've come across
numerous situations where "factory"
won't fit the bill, and have had to come
up with ideas (within my means) that
satisfy the build criteria. I cringe whenever
someone I show my truck to, refers to it
as a ratrod.
On ebay, the cheapest front grille I could
find was $650 bucks. (1940 Plymouth).
I improvised a built my own for the cost
of electricity, and some welding wire.
Is it factory perfect ? Nope. But I like
it.
What I've got against ratrodders is they
gobble up a lot of hard to find parts
that someone is trying to find to replace
and restore their passions, and the
ratrodders have had a huge affect
on the cost of those parts.
I'm a firm believer in keeping the
bloodlines pure. If you're building
a 1932 ford, for god sakes, don't put
a Chevy 350 in it.....
