I'm entering unknown (to me) territory: front end suspension. I am fairly certain that my suspension needs attention since it looks original. (Plus, I need to remove the driver side so I can repair a hole in the frame). I want to replace the drum brakes with disc brakes and I have NO IDEA where to start. I would appreciate some guidance. Would you recommend a rebuild kit? Which one? Do I worry about disc brakes at the same time or is that something I worry about/purchase later? (Please, no eyerolls ... just solid advice from experienced folks.) Terry

A suspension can look like that and work great. Have you driven the car to see what it is doing?

You are very energetic to wire wheel everything like that!

Just one loose or bent part and or misaligned can make it drive terrible.

Is that the only rust hole? Could be, that's where dirt sits and can make a hole in an otherwise solid frame rail

Thanks for your replies. Yep, angle grinder with a paint stripping disk and a drill with wire wheels. I figured that's what builds character :) I PM-ed Craig AND would still love to hear from others. Anyone that's interested can see the work I've done at Recreating a Dream
