I understand now. I just need to get rid of the black wire I installed and plug the 12v wire from wiring harness into the ivr3 we’re the black wire is plugged into and get rid of the cylinder (circle tube). I was just confused with your pic because there was no 12v hooked up.

you got it my friend, thats all there is to it, it is confusing especially when you have 2 or 3 people telling you different things.

no kidding, your car is the 12v power source, your harness you un plugged from the cluster now goes to the dual terminal on the ivr3 limiter. you need 12v into the limiter and the limiter puts 5v out im not sure where the confusion is, Real time eng says this, I just got off the phone with Tom actually talking about this actual post. the limiter is a one wire hook up to the cluster, your car is the 12v source.
The confusion is that you showed the new limiter with one wire connected and stated it was a one wire hook-up.

It will never work as pictured.
I do have a BS in electrical engineering and 36 years experience in control systems so please don't disparage my comments.

It will work as soon as you put it in the car and hook up your harness. the cluster wont work on the bench either with the points hooked up so whats the difference, it has to be in the car or have a 12v source in, thats why the ivr3 dual term says "ign" the limiter is in fact a one wire hook up to the cluster.

I looked at your website on Facebook but I didn’t see any restoration pictures I’ve seen some restoration work of yours on other posts on the forum. I will have some questions about the headlights in the near future if you know anything about those

Has anyone installed a IVR 3 on there fuel gauge. If so any pics of installation?

I see you have the gauge apart, you do not need to open gauge to install this, install on back side of cluster right near the fuel gauge. I used a simple 3 pronged DC voltage regulator on mine it feeds all the gauges, been working for years, can't even recall exactly how I did it. This pretty much looks like a plug and play.
