I am looking for a gated type shifter that [when stripped from its factory plastic console] will fit into/under the factory console of my 1965 Dodge Coronet 500.

I just want to feel a positive stop between shifts. I also want the appearance of a factory shifter arm/knob.

I am just doing research at this point and was wondering if you guys had some good ideas for a replacement[?].
Please let me know, and thanks!

Bump. I am looking also. Winters looks like a possibility.
I had a Winters shifter in my '55 chevy race car. It worked very well....I just don't know if it would fit under the console and align with the console sift points, i.e. P,N,D, etc. AND work with the existing cable if possible. Don't know....never swapped one.

How about a factory slap stick?

I bet it would be real easy to install, using many of the same mounting points and linkage.
