Gator McClusky car

Who remembers the Gator McClusky car? Burt Rynolds was the Main character, Gator. The car was a 4 door 1971 Ford Custom 500. Not a Mopar but still a cool movie car. I would not mind owning one for a while.

The story was, stuntman Hal Needham performed the jump where the Ford landed on the barge. Obviously the jump wasn't done right since the car landed halfway on the edge of the barge. Needham was injured in the landing.
They needed more speed from the car and more rise from the ramp to get the car to land entirely on the barge.

I liked how that engine sounded in the movie.

Car was a 4 speed too!
Unless when it was an auto on the column, in park, when driving, like most tv/movie cars.

The car sounded like any other V8 but without an air cleaner to silence the 4 barrel.

Hell the General Lee Charger would have jumped over the barge.
