Gauge testing

I put this video together to help out some folks who have the infamous coolant / fuel gauge not working questions.

Edit to add... If you test it in the vehicle with vehicle power, key on, and get no gauge response probe the 5v prong for power OR hook the power source up like I did on the bench. If the gauge responds your issue is between power source and gauge +.

Better use some USB source or maybe a PC power source. Just 1/4 volt makes really a difference on these testing for accuracy at least

I want a tester! Are they available in the market place or do you have to make one? In the FSM they were useing one. Seems like a dealer item.

Make one. The fancy case isn't needed, nor the switch. All you need are 3 sets of resistors that add up to (10, 23, and 73) and wire them between leads or if you only want to see full make one with 10 ohms and solder in the resistor.
