Gears. HELP

[74 Charger]

Friends: I have a 1974 Charger with a fresh stock 440 and an 833 OD trans. My rearend is an 8.25 with tall gears. I have a new, aftermarket suregrip carrier and a new set of 4.10 gears. I am hearing that I will regret the 4.10s; is that true? Even with the OD trans? I do mostly in-town driving with the rare road trip to Carlisle, etc. Any thoughts?

Well if you figure your final ratio in the trans at .71:1 which is what I believe it is, and multiply that by your rear ratio at 4.10.

.71 x 4.10 = 2.91 not a bad cruising ratio. Now if you run a taller tire that will drop that some more.

I think I have this figured right so maybe someone else will chime in and confirm or deny.
