Those tires will be a hair more than 3/4" closer to the fender. If you have more clearance than that, those tire will work.
And I do consider them a fairly conservative size . Check all four tires. Tolerances in the old days weren't great.

I like how the used set have a deeper dish on the 15x9s, the re pops add any extra width to the inside. I have the new ones and that's the only thing I would change about them.

My friend has the 15x8 and 15x9 ones on his 70 Charger R/T, no rubbing issues.
