I want to refinish the glove box door on my 74 Charger. Does anyone know how to remove the chrome knob/latch assembly? Thanks

glovelock.jpgLook at this

it has to be in order

lock the cilinder ( is the only way to get access to the tab throught the hole ) remove the key, then push in the tab before reinsert insert the key, then insert the key ( this will keep the tab pressed ) and will be able to pull out cilinder.

Thanks I was wondering how it came out. I bought NOS locks and the direction said DON’T REMOVE THE KEY. When the lock is out, you need to keep the key in the cylinder. Is this true?

yes as I told...

lock the cilinder... this will give you access to the retaining tab
remove the key
press the tab
insert the key... this will keep the retaining tab pressed, allong with the rest of key tabs flat
pull out the cilinder WITH the key
