Working on my car yesterday putting wheel arch trim molding on. Each piece of trim has 7 little clips like this that hold it on.

There are 4 pieces of trim so there should be 28 clips. Yup, I can do math. Well, I started with 28 and everything was going fine. On the last piece of trim the clips were a little loose in their slides. When I went to move the molding a few of the clips dropped to the ground. No bid deal as the floor was pretty clean. I found 4 clips on the floor and put them back on the molding with a little tape to prevent it from happening again. Then I noticed a small situation. Now there were only 6 clips. So, 3 pieces with 7 clips each is 21, take that from 28 and there should be 7 left (math again). Nope, there were now only 6 clips for this last piece. Searched on that floor for about 30 minutes and never found the missing clip. Had to go to another car and pull a clip off that one to finish the job. Fast forward to this afternoon. Wife and I were out and about and I found a pair of shoes I liked. Went to try them on and found this in one of shoes I was wearing.

Ha. I was gonna suggest checking a tire tread but didn't think about that.
That's like the CSI episode, when they investigate a bombing and later found a key clue to who did it, in the rubber sole of a fireman's boot. It was a tiny computer chip that solved the mystery.

I have to admit I have a fastener fetish. Really, anytime i visit a junkyard with old Mopars, it's what i grab first. They are hard to come by and most of the repo stuff is junk.
