These are the laws of men at the time, not the divine word of some all loving all-powerful god. Today's Christians pick and choose. The Bible is not all about love.

I've read it and am reading it, trying to study but fall far short of what I should. Everything you cherry pick is rebutted with verses and truth is revealed.
Romans 6:23 sums it up here, I'm not asking you to believe, that's your choice, but it does not have to be your fate. Most mock what they do not understand due to pier pressure, fear or in an effort to be "cool".
There are many that have been lost, me included, and have been found, forgiven and redeemed.

God helps you find your car keys while 14 innocent children die every minute in the world. Mike, notice the verses are about believing. You've got to believe in their system to go to heaven.

Let's go to the famous John 3:16. Jesus didn't just wipe out our sins. We have to BELIEVE that he did. The church made these rules so you need them. God didn't have to make a demi-god (god/man) sacrifice to cleanse our sins. He's God. He can just do it. Who the heck was he making a sacrifice to? It defies logic. I know this stuff was drummed into our heads from childhood on, but that doesn't make it true.

I think believers will be believers no matter what. If you were born in Iran you would be a Muslim believer, in India, you would be a Buddist. It's just in some people's nature. There must be some aspect of Christianity that you guys think is crazy. How can those people believe that, but they do. Let's take the Branch Davidian Christian cult. Those people believed enough to die for David Koresh. We think they were crazy but he was using the Bible to convince them he was channeling the word of God. You don't think the same thing has gone on throughout history?


I've watched some of these Answers in Genisis videos. They are just outright lying. What they are saying is just not true. There is no kind way to put it. Faith healers, give me a f'ing break! I could go on and on.

Belief is called faith, and that is something that God does require of us...either you have it or you don't, but the great thing is those that dont...can!
Your logic, nor mine or anyone elses, can come close to Gods wisdom and understanding and it is futile to try.
Sorry this angers you so much that you have to search and only see evil instead of looking and finding good, We all get to choose our destiny its part of the free will that God gave us.
Curious what happened in your life to make you despise something that is good? Why do you seek to belittle what so many believe and know in their hearts is good and has changed their lives making them better people? Why do you compare those people to those that do evil under the guise of God?
So hypothetically if you were out to destroy something you couldn't defeat head to head, how would you do it? You would slander Gods works of goodness in order to keep those brainwashed with the word of man from seeking truth. Steve, you have the right not to believe in God and faith. You also have the right to voice your opinion on this thread. I do believe you are going to be out numbered by the people that have faith.
I have no problem with science but from what I am seeing with COVID-19 and science is that these “science” ******** create this virus and try to cover it up. Never once has any of the people responsible stood tall and said yes we knew about it.
Keep believing in science it’s not always wrong, but look what happens when it is.

Actually, the Bible was everywhere in my school. K through 8th grade. Zion Lutheran School. Sunday school then church every Sunday. Vacation Bible School every summer. With all that exposure my doubts began about 7th and 8th grade.

I used to be able to rip off all the books of the Bible in order. We sang multiple hymns and read Bible verses every day. I wonder now how much reading, writing, and arithmetic were left out of my education in favor of focusing on religion.

I think religion would be easier to accept if I had not learned so much. I remember my first doubts as a kid were what about the American Indians? How could they go to hell. They never had a chance.

The study showed that there was a better chance of a tornado going through a junkyard and assembling a fully functional 747 passenger jet. Let me say this in closing. IF there is a supreme being or beings in control of the universe none of our religions are even close to knowing what it is. There has been a lot of good done in the name of religion but there has been and still is a whole lot of bad being done by religion.

No Steve, again you are incorrect; God reveals Himself in His Word.
IF you are actually interested in 'science' , may I suggest you look at www.reasons.org . These are astro physicists, PhD biologists etc that can and do confirm Biblical accuracy every single day. In fact, the head of the group was an 'agnostic' until he really started studying and found that not only was/is the Bible scientifically accurate, but quite frankly, the only plausible answer.
IF archaeology is more to your interest, again, The Bible is proven daily. read anything by E Raymond Capt or a hundred others.
I could go on. IF you actually desire truth as opposed to being contrary and 'validating' your own biases / lifestyle, then the resources are there and easily found.
The world was created and set in motion; physics doesnt change due to beliefs - If I step off the top of the Empire State Bldg, Im gonna fall and splat just like you. We have free will. Choices have consequences. Evil people do evil things and the innocent suffer. Thats the way it is. Why? Im sorry, i dont know. I would set the world up where good folk would have no problems and bad folk would have lots. But mostly, I would urge you to actually delve into the matter since for some reason you seem naturally disinclined to accept Truth. be honest with yourself and allow Wisdom to flow. You will be glad and blessed. I will be glad as then I will have another brother and one of God's Children will have come home to experience a fuller life and life everlasting.
