Good news… 73/74 Rallye stripes

Is amazing that after so many years pushing on this, I still can’t get an answer showing the final result to proceed to buy… and is THE ONLY LAST WALL before click on buy the stripes…

Finally got the stripes pics… and what can I say. They are still not correct. REALLY I don’t want to be an a$$hole, just wish a correctly made set specially if I have to pay around $450 on this (stripes price+international shipping) but I don’t think they are getting what is/was wrong on their set being made.

Initially the problem with them is the darker shades weren’t dark as should be. But now they got darker ALL THE STRIPE LONG, not JUST the areas needing to be darker.

On this pic the light are looks to be light yellow because the reflection (it seems they used flash?) not because the color printed:

Here is what should be the right look, where the yellow areas are still YELLOW, not orange.

Some cars with original stripes I have saved along the years

Here is the NOS set I have where it CLEARLY SHOWS how diff is from the PG set (YET, now being darker) and how close is to the black 74 I posted. The yellow areas (specially around quarter wheel opening ) is still YELLOW, not like the new PG purpousal.

( No flash involved or straight light so no reflection affecting the shades)

All what they need to get is the stripe made from the darker red they got on this revised stripes version, to the lighter amber/yellow from the previous set they were making! This get a wider gradation range. So the gap between the dark shade and the light shade is WIDER than any of both repro versions made by PG.

They say they got NOS sets ( all three, red, copper and gold ) to get the sample... dunno if they actually are detailing those, because from the distance, I can tell how they look waaaaay diff than my own set also NOS yet.

This is how the light shade (yellow/amber) area should look, but without flash

However when there is not a flash or straight light involved look how orange it does look! Totally incorrect

Keep on ‘em Nacho! I’d love to see quality reproductions that look just like the originals, even if it costs more. I’m not interested in these current reproductions at all.

I actually can’t pay more than the actual price… they raised it around $50.

$hit, I even can’t pay the actual price in one payment… if these comes right someday soon (which I hope) will have to take the PayPal 3 payments form… or splitting on even more payments if posible.

Whatever, I don’t think can’t push on this alone. The best is pushing together showing there are a community interest and not a weirdo “Lone Ranger” on this.

I’ve been looking for an NOS set or pieces of the gold stripes. I have some but not a complete set.

I have a full left side set and also right side fender. But it can’t be used.

The problem with these old sets is not the glue of the stripes itself, but the transfer paper… that paper is so glued to the vinyl that probably won’t come out (not at least without damage the stripe) if trying to use the stripe. The ink can be peeled out from the white reflective vinyl.

That’s the red?

Yeah not being able to get the transfer paper off would be an issue.

I wonder if there’s anything you could use to loosen off the glue without damaging the stripe underneath. I have no plans of putting an NOS set on a car but to use them as reference/comparison for reproductions.

Tipically stripes are installed getting wet the surface. Dunno if that would help, getting also wet the transfer paper
