GOOD prices or not

Well guys, I don't know if this is bad or good, but when I do one full tire rotation the drive line turns 2 3/4 full turns. So what gear is that, should be good to do 200 miles hr and not burn tires off lol.

Ya or might be 2.93 if I was off alitte, lol
ThX for the site, but do I have to go back to same ratio, I would like to get up to 3.55 3.91 4.11 because I think I will be building a stroker 511 and want some stealth heads and good cam to get 600+ hp YAHOOO lol I heard that the pro comp heads are better price and just as good. Give me your thoughts, but would like to start with a clean 400 block, I got good deal on a 400 with 52,000 km and is with a 727 tranny already cheap cheap and is running. THX

So I have read those to sites and understand something now, but doesn't have anything to do about hp, so the next question is if my rear is not a sure grip can it be changed to one, because I have 2.76 or so in there now and they are not staying there. I will be going to 3.55 but maybe would like the 3.91, my tires or brand new with nipples still (came with car) but are a 215/70 R 15 so on small size, so I will burn them off when I get stroker finished. The tranny is a 727 auto, can not go stick as I have buggered up leg or send me a sites to read again LMAO

LOL - okay, after this you need to use that handy little "Search" link in the top right of every FBBO page.

But the bottom line is that you can definitely swap in a Sure Grip. I've got an Auburn locker in my 8 1/4, with 3:55 gears... the amount of gas the car drinks now compared to when it had 2:76s is noticeable, but not too bad.

See I didn't tell ya that the one that helps me the most gets a case of real bear, canadian non of this 3% stuff. LOL

So woundering why they have forums then, why is anybody writing things down when it should all be here already.......Just bugging so I will be back when I find something not posted OK.:sex:

So why would not everybody want to use the A500 or A518 tranny when it was a 727 but with overdrive. So when they hit the hwy.?

The 500 and 518 didn't come with the big block bellhousing and the adapters are expensive. Add to that, Floor and crossmember surgery to fit those trans and the costs keep going up. Those are a couple of reasons. When it comes to rear gears, it will be up to you to decide what your needs are. Don't pick a gear with only HP in mind. What are your goals for the car? Racing? Cruising, Daily driver? 2.76 to 3.55 are great for all around cruising, anything stiffer and it starts to suck the fuel on the street. Don't get me wrong, I drove my 3.91 equipped 340 swinger back and forth to work for a while but at 40 bucks a day got expensive. 3.55 's in the Helvedere are pretty decent for all around cruising.

Well I will be in town most of the time like 67% and rest maybe travel and go to track and is hr away away. I also notice that if you changed gears they must match case number.

Well guys, went and pick up my new to me 400 with 727 auto with 52,000 km from a 74 charger SE for 200 canadian bucks let the beginning of the new stroker begin, yahooo
