Hi from the Buckeye State. As you may have gathered from my user name, I'm looking for a 1969 Dodge Coronet to tool around in. I'm not looking for a Super Bee or a Super Bee clone; just a nice Coronet 440 would do me fine and I could get by with a 318 V-8 as go power. (Although I would probably be happy if it had the hotter 340 small block V-8) 2 or 4 door doesn't matter. As you may imagine though, unmolested 1969 Dodge Coronet 440s aren't that common so I've expanded the search to look at any well-preserved Coronets up to the 1974 model year. In the meantime, I'm playing around with a 1977 Dodge Powerwagon that I bought at auction from the military. It has the 318 CI V-8 and the 727 Torquefilte as well as Dana axles. It's not too fuel efficient, but its a lot of fun when I Go off road with it.

welcome and good luck with your search

Used to see those every day. Always wanted one. Bet it don't get stuck much if at all.

What's your budget?

How about a 68?

Is Mississippi too far?

Nice 66-

If you got some cash-

I guess you can get a shiny 67 for under 5K-

How much work you want to do? This 67 might go cheap, and looks like decent quarters-

They ARE out there and this is a good time to buy.

Check craigslist. Pain sometimes, but I've got some good parts deals and even a car. CHEAP.

...your camo's not workin real well.

it's right in front of those trees and I can STILL SEE IT!

You're pretty funny for a used car salesmen! Welcome to the site from the Motor City! I do like your truck.

Welcome! I've got a buddy that just got stationed at Wright-Patt not too long ago.

Yeah, check craigslist, but depending on how far you're willing to go, use a compiler like searchtempest. It'll search all the craigslists sites within a specified range for you all at once. Makes it easier. Oodle cars is pretty good at picking up a bunch of sites too, but it can get kind of into the weeds a little too.

Thanks for the tips, guys! I have been checking eBay auto listings but I've never had much luck with that service. It either turns up condition 1 or 2 Super Bees which are priced north of $15,000 (which is NOT what I'm looking for) or clapped out hulks not much good to anyone except for parts. (I think I have moved on past the junk car in the yard phase.)

I search in "cars and trucks" for "Dodge" "1962-1970", and sort by "newly listed".
I check every day or every other day.

I have another search for "1971-1982" and two more for Plymouths.

I bought my 66 and my 74 via ebay, and my 73 via craigslist.

For craigslist I use search terms like "coronet", I do get some musical instruments, though.

For Chargers and Satellites, I also use a year (1968 coronet), and do repeated searches with different years.
This weeds out battery items and TV items.
PITA, but effective.

Any bets on what the blue 68 in Oh goes for?
How about the brown/bronze 69 in MS?

I say 7K for the 68 and 5500 or less for the 69.

..is that a frame patch on the 68? Might hurt.

I'm guessing high because they are already more than I'd pay.

welcome to FBBO, cool Power Wagon, good luck on your 69 Coronet search, maybe you could try Autabuy.com...

Welcome fellow Buckeye! I looked at a '69 500, 383 automatic that was numbers matching from New York. It is dead nuts reliable and a little rough around the edges. It would be a 'fix as you drive', but drive it you can. If you look back through the archives it is in the for sale section.
Btw, had a '78 and really miss it. It was a 400/automatic with front and rear 60's and it was STOUT.

Oh yeah, if you check out searchtempest.com you can search every Craigslist city in the nation.

welcome. gotta love those old trucks, they'll climb a tree if you ask it.

Well, I was within $500 on the 69.

Interesting that the 68, which looked much nicer, went for less. Under 5K.
