originally a 440 car but now has a mild built 383

Basically took a Real GTX and turned it into a RR clone

Yep...

it was done a lot, when these cars were just old used cars
just put any BB in it & get it back on the road

if it had the org. 440 or a 440 still,
it would be a lot closer in value/asking price

it has a few things that could be easily fixed too
but for the price $32,500
you could buy one, with most that done already

I've also seen far worse for far more too

Wasnt there a green GTX on CL not too long ago, with the proper motor and the car looking very good to go in the $20's?

Easy enough of a fix.
Easy in terms of the work involved, but potentially expensive. If you need to buy all new bumpers and trunk panel it will cost a few grand surely, and re-chroming is very expensive too. If the car is otherwise special or a great bargain these things wouldn't be as important, but for me I'd look elsewhere.

The biggest issue is the engine: finding a proper 440 will be time and money intensive. I'd pass also. Especially when there are other cars like that green GTX I know i saw on here for craigslist that had all the right stuff for under $30K...

Wow. I just saw this one and thought I would share! I didn’t realize how much history this one has and I totally agree with you guys about the 383! Who knows why people do dumb stuff! If he still had the original 440 laying around then maybe we could talk, but MYK is right about trying to find one.

He probably had a broken 440, and thought by changing it out for a 383, he would be able to change the plugs easier.
