Keep the paint clean and polished/waxed, and out of the sun's rays (Ultra Violet light kills paint & clear coats)
A nice temperature controlled garage will help. :headbang:
Or don't use the base coat clear. Thing is, it usually lasts for longer than acrylic enamel paint but I'm starting to have my doubts. Had a 70 Challenger that was still wearing it's original paint when I bought it in 1980. It wasn't garage kept until I bought it but the guy took good care of it (original owner) and I garaged it for the next 18 years and it still looked as good as it did in 1980. 28 year old paint still looked pretty damn good. Now it was starting to show some pitting etc (can't remember all the terminology for aging paint) but it still looked very nice up close. Many people asked me how long ago did I paint it. On the other hand, my 95 Dakota started losing it's clear coat around 14 years old and looks like crap now.....
