That last time that happened to me i was holding 3 coffees, and a few snacks. I finally got frustrated enough to say to the guy, "Excuse me, do you mind if I set these down on the counter"? His response was, "Sure, go ahead". So, I did.
Then I turned to the clerk behind the counter, pointed to the customer (who was literally still selecting lottery tickets), and said, "It's on him". I then walked out.
